Course description

The principal goal of this postgraduate course is to provide conceptual and technical knowledge for introducing sustainability into architectural, urban development &recovery, and restoration projects. The course has both theoretical and practical focus: academic lectures will be complemented by the work on real locations in Hanoi, where the studied concepts will be put into practice.

The course will consist of 4 modules:

1. Sustainable Urban Development and Recovery
2. Sustainable Architectural Restoration
3. Sustainable Architectural Design and Building Construction
4. Natural Spaces Recovery

The course is organized as a combination of long distance lectures, classroom lectures and intensive workshops:
- long distance lectures re performed by the Professors from the Technical University of Catalonia, and other invited guests. These lectuers will be provided en DVDs.
- classroom lectures will be held along the workshops, both by UPC and HAU professors.
- Each module will have a 4 day workshop where the applicability of different solutions in context of city of Hanoi will be studied.

The course will be held at Hanoi Architectural University, Km10, Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi, Vietnam

Addmission

Addmission process will be carried out at Hanoi Architectural University.

Course certificates

Students that successfully complete the entire course will obtain Course DIploma signed by Technical University f Catalonia and Hanoi Architectural University.

Language requirements

English proficiency is a requirement for all the students of the course.
