Kick off meeting in Barcelona, Spain, March 2005

At the kick-off meeting in Barcelona the three partners (UPC, HAU POLIMI) got informed of the situation at each
university. The POLIMI and HAU representatives were also informed, through sessions with Diputacion de Barcelona, and Mancomunitat de Municipis, organized specially for them, about the important issues regarding the Metropolitan Area organization and management, and various issues of sustainable urban planning (green belts, transport system, public spaces, sewage systems, evaluation processes etc) that they found of great interest.


Meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam, July 2005                                                         

Through the numerous meetings Spanish and Italian partners were informed of the problems and needs in the architectural and urban planning practice especially those related to environmental issues. Accordingly the future activities were adjusted, such as distant learning courses and seminar contents. A series of seven presentations about sustainable architecture and urban planning were held in Hanoi by the delegates from Spain and Italy with a good response in public (both teaching staff and students). This meeting also triggered the interest of HAU for the recognition of their Curricula on the international level, and as one of the experts from the UPC delegation is closely related to this issue the meetings have been arranged to discuss the possibilities.
